iPhone Apps I Love: Everyday Food

April 16, 2010 by Lorraine Barte Nepomuceno Leave a Comment

Joke as much as you like about Martha Stewart, the lady is a powerhouse. No, I never thought her face would be one I’d see so often on on my iPhone, but that was before I discovered Martha’s Everyday Food App, which I now officially cannot live without.

Everyone has to eat, everyday, and if you’d rather save your eating-out money for awesome gadgets, eating at home is the thing to do.

Now while I do like eating in, I’m not crazy about menu planning. Which is where the Everyday Food App comes in. It alerts me to new recipes every day (with a “Dinner Tonight Alert”)- and these are easy to prepare recipes, with ingredients I almost always already have in my fridge or pantry.

Then, not only does it help me create shopping lists based on recipes I’ve chosen, it helps me find stores to buy these items at.

But perhaps my favorite feature of this app are the daily cooking tips from “Martha’s Team”. They’ll let me know, for example, what I can do with leftovers from a particular dish (e.g. “use leftover sauce for pasta!”)

Everyday Food is currently $.99 at the App Store.
