Everyone can now sell DRM-Free tracks in iTunes


itunes.jpgApple sent out a short message to partners who provide music to the iTunes store. The notice lets partners know that Apple will begin offering DRM-Free, higher quality tracks, next month, and they they can sell DRM Free tracks as well, if they choose to.

Many of you have reached out to iTunes to find out how you can make your songs available higher quality and DRM-free. Starting next month, iTunes will begin offering higher-quality, DRM-free music and DRM-free music videos to all customers.

This is great news for indy labels, that have been looking to sell DRM-Free music in iTunes for a while now. The DRM-Free music videos are an interesting addition as well, and content providers will be able to sell them for the same price as the current music videos.
